HR alliance acknowledges its commitment to the new privacy provisions
in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, effective 21 December
2001.
HR alliance respects each individual's rights to security, privacy and
service in relation to the manner in which we utilise their personal information.
We are determined to ensure that all our customers are always treated
with respect and guaranteed the levels of privacy they expect.
Consistent with the National Privacy Principles, we guarantee that:
1. Collection
We will only request personal information that is pertinent to the transaction.
Also, when you do provide us with such information, we guarantee to
protect that information and prevent any security breaches. However,
we may store and process that information on our secure database in
order to meet your personal needs and improve our service to you.
2. Use and disclosure
We will not divulge any information we gather from you as a customer
to any third party other than the primary party (employer) for whom
it is originally intended, without your prior consent. At HR alliance
we see our customer as our most valued asset and we can envisage no
situation now or into the future where we will be prepared to pass on
personally identifiable information regarding our customers.
Where providing information is not mandatory we will give you the opportunity
to opt-in or opt-out of supplying information in the situations where
it will lead to us contacting you in the future.
3. Data Quality
We will endeavor to take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal
information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
4. Data Security
We will ensure that all personal information we hold is protected from
misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We will destroy
or de-identify personal information that is no longer required.
5. Openness
We will take reasonable steps to provide an individual with details
of personal information being held by us upon request. We will inform
all individuals of the type of personal information we hold and the
purpose for it being held, the method of collection, use and disclosure
of the information.
6. Access and correction
A right of access is available to you regarding personal information
held, by way of a written request addressed to our Privacy Officer.
We will provide this access within 30 days of original request. The
Privacy Officer will audit procedures for handling personal information,
promote the Privacy Act, monitor compliance, ensure that all staff adhere
to the privacy provisions and handle access requests and complaints.
7. Identifiers
We will not adopt as an identifier of an individual that which has been
assigned by an external agency or contracted service provider.
8. Anonymity
We will give individuals the option of not identifying themselves when
entering transactions with us, wherever it is lawful and practicable.
9. Transborder data flows
We will not transfer personal information about an individual to someone
who is in a foreign country, unless we have the written consent of that
individual or the recipient is subject to a law, binding scheme or contract
which effectively upholds principles similar to the National Privacy
Principles.
10. Sensitive Information
We will only collect sensitive information about an individual with
consent or if it is required by law.
We will only deal with suppliers, sub-contractors and clients who are
prepared to adhere to the HR alliance Privacy Policy in matters where
our candidates may be involved.
All of our staff are made aware of and adhere to the HR alliance Privacy
Policy.
